Zusammenfassung :

 

The incorporation scheme of Nd(III) rare earth cations into complex glasses exhibiting high chemical

durability and waste capacity are investigated using Nd L2 EXAFS spectroscopy. Two interesting results are obtained:

The Nd-O mean distance varies with the nature of the alkali in the glass. The distance increases with the cation field strength by +0.05 Å when going from from Li to K.

The observed second shell can not be assigned solely to Si ions. The presence of alkali ions in the vicinity of Nd (near 4 Å) is found to be significant.
