Zusammenfassung :
The incorporation
scheme of Nd(III) rare earth cations into complex glasses exhibiting high
chemical
durability and waste capacity are investigated using Nd L2 EXAFS
spectroscopy. Two interesting results are obtained:
– The Nd-O mean
distance varies with the nature of the alkali in the glass. The distance increases
with the cation field strength by +0.05 Å when going from from Li to K.
– The observed
second shell can not be assigned solely to Si ions. The presence of alkali ions
in the vicinity of Nd (near 4 Å) is found to be significant.
