INfluence of polarized high power Microwave fields onto ceramic Pore structures during sintering

A new method to investigate the presence of non-thermal microwave effects during sintering of zirconia ceramics will be introduced. The application of linear polarized microwave fields and subsequent microstructure analysis revealed growing evidence for an non-isotropic pore closure due to ponderomotive driving forces. Recent results will be presented.
