Center Karlsruhe, Germany - Institute for Pulsed Power and Microwave Technology
Pulsed Power Technology and
Applications
at the Research Center Karlsruhe
The main subject of the Pulsed Power Division
is the advancement of science and technology for the production of repetitive
high voltage pulses (>10 Hz) with very large power (>1 GW) and pulse
energy (>1 kJ) and its application to problems in energy-, environmental-,
and bio-technology. The following subjects will be discussed:
-
Interaction of pulsed electric fields and
discharges with biological cells;
-
Fragmentation and separation of compound materials and minerals with
pulsed electric discharges;
- Surface modification of materials by pulsed
electron beams.
